New clinic to open in St. John

ST. JOHN — Northland Health Center will open a new clinic location in St. John next month, said Lori Dunke, chief operations officer.

The modular unit was delivered Wednesday.

Northland Health Center had previously operated a clinic in nearby Rolla but opted to close that location in favor of opening a clinic in St. John. Dunke said the St. John community has been eager to have a clinic located there so patients don’t have to travel out of town for medical care.

“We’ll be the only primary care clinic (in St. John),” said Dunke.

The clinic will be open five days a week. Physician assistant Christine Hedstrom will head services at the clinic.

Northland Health Services serves all patients, regardless of ability to pay. All patients, whether they are insured or uninsured or receive assistance from Medicare or Medicaid, will receive services. Patients are charged on a sliding fee scale based on income, if they meet income guidelines.

Other locations in the state are in Bismarck, Bowbells, McClusky, Minot, Ray, Rolette, St. John, and Turtle Lake. Minot, Rolette, and Turtle Lake also offer dental services and Minot’s location also offers behavioral health services.

“We’re excited,” said Dunke. “We’re looking forward to opening (in St. John).”
